Welcome to Echo! Thanks for showing interest in joining our guild. In this article you will find some essential information better explaining the recruitment process, as well as some general information regarding Echo.
Before getting into the recruitment process itself, we'd like to give you some information regarding the guild, the raids, and obviously, the loot…
Who are we?Echo is a PvE based guild on the EU-Bronzebeard server. Our main goal is to have a relatively small group of skilled raiders, capable of coping with whatever Blizzard throws at us.
Some History - Echo was created by a group of friends after “The Dream Hunters” guild fell apart at the very early days of TBC. With time, Echo grew to become one of the top PvE guilds on the server, being the 2nd guild on the server to defeat Brutallus (pre-nerf) and among the top 4 guilds to clear SW before LK was released.
Once LK released after a short break for leveling and some gearing up Echo have cleared all available content including Sartharion with all 3 drakes up (server 2nd). After defeating The Lich King on 25 man normal mode, we are now progressing through hardmodes.

Raid Sign-upsEach member of the guild is expected to sign for
ALL raids listed on the Raid sign-up site as one of the 3 possible sign-up states – Signed, Unsigned or Not-Sure.
The night before each raid the raid leader will confirm the raid team as required for the encounter.
Loot SystemEcho is using a modified version of the Zero-Sum DKP system.
Each raid drop is put up for sale, the price of each item is determined based on the slot and the item level. Out of the people interested the person with the highest amount of DKP at that time will get the item.
The DKP entitled per boss is the sum of DKP paid for the loot divided by the number of raid participants. Additional DKP is given for wipes on new content.
For more info on DKP check
here.
Loot PriorityLoot priority is based on the guild rank as follows –
Raider -> Member -> Recruit -> Off-Spec -> Alt (if there are any) -> Guest (if there are any)
Recruitment processThe recruitment section of our boards contains an up-to-date list of class openings as well as the specific spec per class we are looking for. Our main goal in recruitment is to find the right balance between ensuring the right classes available per raid while at the same time not having classes over populated with people sitting out on a regular base.
That being said, once a decision to recruit a specific applicant has been taken we reserve that applicant a raider position in our guild. From that point on, it is up to the applicant to prove us he deserves this position.
The recruitment process is composed of the following steps –
1. An application has been submitted either by a post or a PM to one of the officers.
2. The application is reviewed internally by the officers and the relevant Class Master. During this step the applicant may be contacted for additional information.
3. A decision is made by the officers, based on the feedback of the Class Masters. If accepted, the applicant is invited to the guild to start his trial.
4. Trial starts from the first raid the applicant participates and lasts for at least two weeks.
5. During your trial you are eligible for loot as mentioned above and will be able to earn/spend DKP.
6. For each recruit a dedicated thread is posted on a private board, accessible solely by guild members in order to collect feedback regarding the applicant.
7. At the end of two weeks a decision will be made by officers and class masters to accept the applicant as a raider, decline the applicant or extend the trial if we think we need to see more.
Useful Tips -Before joining – - Your application is your way to present yourself, make sure it gives the right impression to the reader; this is how we get the first impression about you.
- Follow the questions listed on the template and use the last part to show us why we would like to recruit you and not someone else.
- Be honest! This may be the most important point in your application. If you got things you prefer to keep private PM to an officer, hiding things will only get back at you, while being honest will go to your credit.
After Joining -- As soon as you got accepted go and register on our DKP site, make sure you sign to as many raids as you can so we can see your performance.
- Our Class Masters are there for a reason; use them to gather any information you might be missing regarding your class or any class specific encounter roles etc.
- Come prepared, read up about the encounters we are facing, do not expect to be hand fed the strategy of each encounter.
- We use
Ventrilo while raiding, make sure your client is all set before your first raid.
- Make sure your addons are up to date, contact your CM to make sure you got all of the essential addons.
As a member of Echo, you primarily represent the guild before yourself. You're expected to be polite and respectful towards other players both in guild and on Bronzebeard, and infractions on this issue will lead to severe consequences such as demote or kick. Echo is a respected guild on BB and we wish to keep it that way.
We would like to thank you again for showing interest in joining our guild and wish you good luck with your application.
